Amaya Wright is a graduate of Ruston High School. Amaya faces adversity head on as she was taught to pray through misfortunes and be thankful for any difficulties because “It is through our struggles that we gain strength.” Amaya strives to inspire other young girls within the community. She started that journey by stepping outside of her comfort zone & being crowned Miss Juneteenth. While attending Ruston High, Amaya was a Boys & Girls Club volunteer and was a member of several organizations: 4H, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National Honors Society, Bearcat Mentors, Bearcats United Making Spirit, Student Council, and Yearbook Staff.
Curenity Emerson is a graduate of Ruston High School, where she maintained a 3.9 GPA. Through her adversity, she learned that “God challenges us to direct, inspect, correct, protect, & perfect us.” Curenity was a member of the varsity basketball team and the NAACP.
