David Griffin triumphed in the face of adversity, while learning to find his “voice” & be an active listener. He graduated Ruston High School with a 4.38 GPA and was accepted to Louisiana Tech University.  While in high school, his community involvement included back to school drives, Students Actively Involved in Leadership, & Domestic Abuse Resistance Team (DART).  Additionally, David was a member of Student Council, the band, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Speech & Debate Team, Bearcat Mentors, National Honors Society, and the Olympiad Team.

MaKayla Lewis was a graduate of Ruston High School with a Cumulative GPA of 4.5. Makayla draws her motivation from a quote from her mother: “To be great sometimes, you have to experience criticism, and that it is from the pain of being disliked by others that we draw our strength.”  While in school, Makayla volunteered at the local nursing home (Bingo & Blankets and Valentines Day), volunteered at the local elementary school, participated in Christmas Child, and was a member of DART.  Makayla was also active within her school as a member of the varsity cheer squad, National Honors Society, Crown Club, and Key Club.
